Guidelines for the Development of Information Technology in Primary School Educational Administration Under the Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Area 2

Abstract

This research was aimed to study the current state, problem, obstacle, principle and method of using information technology in primary school educational administration and to propose development guidelines of using information technology in primary school educational administration under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2.  The mixed research methodology was used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 260 school administrators and teachers and the analyzed by mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were obtained by in-depth interviews and analyzed by content analysis. The results of the study found that:

1. The current state, problem and obstacle of using information technology in primary school educational administration under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2 in 4 aspects were appropriate at the high level.

2. Principles and methods of using information technology in primary school educational administration under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2 in 4 aspects were as follows; In academic, computerized system was used in studentsregistration and school personnel were computer literate; In teaching and learning and budget management, information technology was used in teaching and learning reports and in financial and budget reports; In personnel management, information technology was used in filing and reporting work performance of teachers, and in general management, the office instrument and information technology were sufficient and in up-to-date.

3. Guidelines of using information technology in primary school educational administration under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2 were that; In academic management, schools should collect studentsdata in information technology system; In budget management, information technology should be used in recording credit and debit account and financial reports; In teaching and learning management, information technology was used in teaching and learning evaluation and measurement; In personnel management, information technology was used in data processing and calculating work performance and promotion, and In general management, information technology was used in recording studentsbiodata.
